Important Announcement to School Families

Julie HayesWe are excited to announce that we have a new principal for St. Raphael School for next school year - Mrs. Julie Hayes.  Father Bob and the Search Committee are proud that our first choice to be our principal accepted the position last week.  We interviewed four candidates whose resumes and recommendations looked good for us.  After that we did two second interviews including a tour of the school.  From these we unanimously agreed on a first choice, namely Mrs. Hayes, who then was excited about accepting our position.

Mrs. Hayes has her MA in Catholic School Leadership from St. Louis University.  She has over 30 years of experience in Catholic education, at both the elementary and secondary level.  She has been principal the last two years at St. James the Greater School in St. Louis.

She will be looking forward to meeting all the faculty, students, and parents of St. Raphael School as soon as the current school year is over.  May God continue to bless all of us who are seeking to make St. Raphael Parish and School the greatest!

Thank you for your support,
Father Bob

Welcome to St. Raphael the Archangel School – we hope you will take sometime to browse our website and see what a special place this is for our students and families.  At St. Raphael, everyone is family.  We are happy to be a small Catholic Elementary School where everyone knows everyone else, and where teachers and students all care about one another, regardless of grade level.

St. Raphael the Archangel School is an institution in St. Louis Hills, and is known for its strong Catholic presence in the community.  Here, our students all attend Mass together every day; our pastor has a daily presence in the school and in the lives of our students; our teachers all help our students to understand the importance of their Catholic faith in all that they learn, see, and do.

The students at St. Raphael the Archangel School come from all walks of life.  They are excited about learning, about their Catholic faith, and about being part of their St. Raphael school family.  Visitors to our school often remark about how friendly and polite they find our students, and although they come in as visitors, they leave as friends.

The Faculty and Staff are all committed to life-long learning, updating curriculum and incorporating educational best practices every year. St. Raphael is a place where teachers offer individual help to students after school because it’s the right thing to do.  It’s a place where teachers work alongside parents at parish events.  It’s a place where faculty and staff celebrate the joys and sorrows of life together with each other and with all of our students.

Our school families and parishioners all pitch in to help out at school.  Whether it’s recess duty, cooking lunches, moving furniture, or helping with learning centers, at St. Raphael we know we can count on the support of all of these members of our school family.

In addition to Grades K-8, we are proud to offer a vibrant Preschool for children ages 3-5.  We offer After Care for Preschool through Grade 4, and we have an incredible Summer Camp for kids.

Thanks for visiting our school website, and please come and visit us!  We’d love to welcome you to our family where students are “Formed in Faith, Prepared for Life.”

Peace and Blessings,

Kim Vangel,
